This course focuses on the ministry of the lay servant who either regularly or occasionally leads a group or congregation in worship. Participants will learn more about the basics of United Methodist worship which includes understanding the resources for planning and leading worship, the pattern and origin of UM worship, suggestions how to renew, revitalize, and plan worship, and how to work with the pastor to communicate the uniqueness of UM worship and help lead your congregation into a deeper and richer experience of God through worship. This course is one of the required courses for the Lay Speaker track.
